Taghazout and Tamraght are walkable surf villages — and while you won’t find Uber or Google Maps precision, getting around is easier than it first seems. Here’s how to explore, move between towns, and discover the area — all without renting a car.
🚶 Walking is the Default
Both Taghazout and Tamraght are small, relaxed villages that are easy to explore on foot. Most cafés, beaches, surf shops, and guesthouses are within a 5–15 minute walk.
- Footpaths & shortcuts: Locals use small dirt paths that wind between buildings — don’t hesitate to explore them.
- Hills & stairs: Tamraght, in particular, is built on a hill. Be ready for some short but steep climbs.
🥾 Walking Between Villages
Getting between Tamraght and Taghazout on foot is easy and scenic — you can choose between a beach walk or the coastal promenade. The distance is about 3.5 km and takes 30–40 minutes.
For the beach route, check tide times in advance. Morning or late afternoon is ideal for cooler temperatures and better lighting.
🚕 Taxis: Collective & Private
There’s no ride-hailing app here — but taxis are everywhere if you know the system.
- Shared Taxis (locally called "Grand Taxis") are shared and usually run fixed routes (e.g., Taghazout ↔ Tamraght ↔ Aourir ↔ Agadir). You pay per seat. Just wait by the road and wave one down.
- Private taxis take you door-to-door, but prices are negotiable. Always agree on a price before getting in.

💡 Tip: Collective taxis look the same as private ones. Ask the driver if it’s “collectif” or “privé” before entering.
🛵 Scooter Rentals
- Daily rentals are usually available for 150–250 MAD/day.
- Helmets are essential, and not all rentals provide great ones — ask for a good fit.
- Roads can be sandy, uneven, and narrow in parts. Drive slowly and watch for pedestrians, especially in the villages.

Bus Line 32 and 33 run between Agadir, Aourir, Tamraght, and Taghazout.
- They’re cheap (around 5–10 MAD), reliable, and safe.
- They can get crowded during local commute hours but are a good budget option.
