Nightlife in Taghazout and Tamraght: Bars, Party Nights and Where to Go Out

Where to go out in Taghazout and Tamraght: sunset bars, weekly party and music nights, resort bars and the nightclub in Taghazout Bay, a big night in Agadir, prices and getting home.

Taghazout is a surf village first. Most people are in the water at dawn, so nights here are about sunset, a long dinner and live music rather than clubbing. There is still plenty to do: a few bars in the village, weekly party nights, and proper nightlife at the resorts in Taghazout Bay and in Agadir, 30 minutes away.

Good to know: drinking in public (on the beach, in the street, on a balcony seen from the street) is not allowed. Tamraght’s cafés are almost all alcohol-free. During Ramadan many places stop serving alcohol.

Sunset drinks

  • Bohemian Berber Bar (BBB) at Dfrost Almugar, Taghazout · a small bar right on the water. Beer, wine and cocktails, plus Friday sunset sessions with music from 16:00, free entry.
  • World of Waves, Taghazout · beachfront bar and restaurant with beer and local wine, and regular live music and jam sessions.
  • Amouage Bar & Kitchen, Taghazout · terrace above Anchor Point, one of the best views of the break at sunset.

Weekly nights out

These happen every week. Times and prices can change, so check the event page or ask the venue first.

One-off concerts, festivals and parties are listed in what’s on.

Bars in Taghazout village

The village has only a handful of places that serve alcohol: the Bohemian Berber Bar, World of Waves and Amouage above. Munga’s Kitchen is a lively spot for pizza in the evening; ask what drinks they serve. Most other cafés and restaurants serve tea, juice and soft drinks only. Many surf camps don’t sell alcohol but let guests bring their own indoors, so ask your camp about its house rules.

Resort bars and clubs in Taghazout Bay

For a later night, the resorts along Taghazout Bay, between Taghazout and Tamraght, have licensed bars and the area’s only nightclub:

  • Hilton Taghazout Bay · Calypso beach club, Suave bar, and Pulse, a nightclub with DJ sets and live entertainment where you can book a table
  • Radisson Blu Taghazout Bay · Seaven bar
  • Hyatt Regency Taghazout Bay · hotel bars and restaurants

Whether non-guests can come in depends on the hotel and the night, so call or message ahead. Dress a little smarter than for the village.

Tamraght

Tamraght is quieter. Evenings are about cafés, communal dinners at the surf houses, the Wednesday open mic and the Thursday music night at Drippers. If you want a drink, head to Taghazout or Taghazout Bay.

A big night in Agadir

Agadir has the coast’s real nightlife: bars and live music around the marina, and lounges and clubs in the hotel zone. It is 20–30 minutes away by taxi. Agree the fare back before you go, or arrange a driver to pick you up. Agadir’s big supermarkets, such as Carrefour and Marjane, have separate alcohol sections if you want to buy drinks.

What it costs

  • Beer in a Taghazout bar · around 50–60 MAD
  • Cocktail on a rooftop or at a BBQ night · from around 70–80 MAD
  • Beer from a supermarket in Agadir · around 15–20 MAD
  • Party entry · free to around €15

Getting home

  • Local buses stop early · the last bus 32 can leave as early as 19:00, so don’t count on it after dark.
  • Taxis · agree the price before you get in. Between Taghazout, Tamraght and Aourir it’s a short ride, and a trusted driver is easiest late at night. See taxi drivers and fares.
  • Walking · the main road between the villages is dark and busy at night; take a taxi instead.

Be a good neighbour

  • Keep the noise down in the village lanes and on rooftops late at night. People live here and the call to prayer starts early.
  • Carry small notes for taxis and late snacks.
